ACADEMIC SUPPORT TEAMS
In collaboration with classroom teachers, Academic Support Teams monitor and support students and families during Remote Learning.
Each grade-level team consists of:
The Academic Support Teams work with teachers, who will provide feedback and recommendations on what they are seeing in classes.
Outreach will include:
This outreach is in addition to the initial contact classroom teachers will make with students about whom they are concerned.
Each week, the Academic Support Teams will meet Monday and Thursday mornings.
MONDAYS
THURSDAYS
Senior supports will include seminars on post-graduation planning, including college applications, letters of recommendation and career and work transitions.
Each grade-level team consists of:
- Deans;
- School Counselors;
- Social Workers;
- School Psychologists;
- Mental Health Coordinator;
- Administrator per each Class House;
- Other staff and faculty.
The Academic Support Teams work with teachers, who will provide feedback and recommendations on what they are seeing in classes.
Outreach will include:
- Phone calls home;
- Zoom meetings;
- Support materials such as organization templates and time management tools;
- Potentially in the future: In-school, in-person small group meetings.
This outreach is in addition to the initial contact classroom teachers will make with students about whom they are concerned.
Each week, the Academic Support Teams will meet Monday and Thursday mornings.
MONDAYS
- Focus on the needs of the students about whom we are concerned and the outreach that will be used with each that day.
- Monitor teacher input in terms of engagement or performance.
- Add new students to be considered for support next Monday.
THURSDAYS
- Focus on the students that need intervention the following Monday
- Create a list of students and small groups.
- Schedule meetings and resources needed to help them.
